WRG Set for 2017 Master’s Challenge

We are proud to announce that South African esports organization, White Rabbit Gaming, will return to defend their Masters crown in 2017.

The ‘Rabbits’ shocked the esports world when they triumphed over rivals Bravado Gaming in the Dota 2 DGL Masters Grand Final last October.

Competing on the big stage in front of thousands of esports fans watching from the Ticket Pro Dome, and at home, WRG upset the tournament favorites 2-1 in a thrilling championship showdown to claim first place and a massive chunk of the R1 Million cash prize pool sponsored by Telkom.

“White Rabbit Gaming had a fantastic year in 2016 as we exceeded all our planned goals for the year with the highlight being our team (Newb) winning the Dota 2 Masters. We are therefore pleased to be involved in another year of the Digital Gaming League Masters continuing its momentum into 2017.

During 2016 we have learnt a lot and faced many challenges behind the scenes as both our organization and the league grew into something more mature in the SA gaming scene. We are looking forward to many of the processes running smoother and also the scene growing in terms of participants and spectators. This year holds some major announcements from the White Rabbit Gaming crew so stick around and follow us for updates as this unfolds!” – Alwyn “SwiTch” Venter (WRG Managing Director).

The DGL Masters is the highest tier of DGL competition reserved for the top 10 MGOs (Multi-Gaming Organizations) in South Africa, competing in CSGO and Dota 2. The incredible R1 Million cash prize pool is recognized as the largest single prize pool in the history of South African esports.
