What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of short stories by Giant Sparrow that follow the misfortunes of a cursed family in Washington State. Each unique story offers a different tale from a different point in the family’s timeline, with some from the early 1900’s and others leading up to the present date.
The stories vastly change as much as the family members themselves, with each story taking place in a first-person perspective and each ending with a family member’s death. What makes this game one for the books is its dive into the vast unknowable world around us.
The player will follow Edith Finch as she explores the history of her family and tries to figure out why she’s the last Finch left alive.
Join Edith on a journey through the history of the Finch family home in an anthology of playable stories, and uncover the macabre circumstances surrounding each generation’s disappearance. View their unique stories through Edith’s eyes, interact with her surroundings through the ages and discover why she’s the last of the Finch’s left alive.
The rabbit hole has only gotten deeper and, for fans of the mystery genre, this is a must to add to the collection as it will stretch the boundaries of what you thought was possible in a game. With unique stunning visuals, a brilliant voice crew and an unpredictable storyline this could potentially become a classic in the future or, at least I hope it will so that maybe it can find its way to PC and other gaming consoles.
Looking at the E3 2015 gameplay it is a game stock full of mini-games and puzzles but that could change more before it finds its release date.
The game is an exclusive set for PlayStation 4, which will leave most gamers stuck watching user-created playthroughs on YouTube and, after a slew of delays, is slated for release sometime in early 2017.
