Overwatch One Year Anniversary

On 23 May 2017, Overwatch will celebrate their first ever anniversary event. It seemed like only yesterday that the FPS-MOBA made its debut, with the title only growing in strength as Blizzard have nursed it into the competitive title that it is today and, with Blizzard now known for raising the bar with each event and update, everybody is waiting to see what is next.

Along with this events, gamers who want to try Overwatch before they buy it can join in on the free weekend, which will take place from 26-29 May 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. More details can be found on the free weekend website although, for the console variants, you will need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Free weekend players will get to experience the full experience of Overwatch, from the addictive loot boxes to the vast gamemodes: “we’re making Overwatch’s full roster of 24 heroes and 14 maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade. Players will also have the ability to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options.” noted Blizzard.

Players will also get to keep their progress if they decide to purchase the game: “if you decide to purchase Overwatch after test driving the game, you’ll get to keep any progress that you made during the weekend” as long as you use the same Battle.net, Sony or Xbox Live account.
