Valve released Dota 2 version 7.06 on Monday evening, which saw Valve implement an incredible amount of changes and tweaks just days before the Dota 2 Masters Cup, set to take place from 19-21 May in Midrand, Johannesburg.
This gives teams very little time to adapt to the vast amount of changes, as there are extremely significant ones heading forward.
Probably the most important change this version brings is to that of the denial exp, with denying creeps now giving the opposing player less experience as well as giving the player that denied the creep 30 percent of the experience for said creep.
This alone has a massive impact of the game, and is in the opening lines of the patch notes. Changes to the jungle have seen neutral creeps now respawning every minute, returning it to the old way the jungle worked, which further changes things.
Multiple heroes have received some interesting Aghanim’s Sceptre’s, such as Axe , who’s Culling blade will now apply a Battle Hunger that reduces heroes damage output by 30 percent to everyone in a 700AoE when successful. Popular heroes in the previous patch, like Monkey King and Alchemist, have been significantly nerfed, which no doubt many people will be glad to see.
Local casters Shaun “Profeci” Murrell, Devin “HellbirD” Rigotti and myself, Richard “DeMoNiK” Sjoberg, met shortly after the patch notes released to give some initial impressions, thoughts and reactions to the changes that come with 7.06, which you can enjoy below:
