Valve has revealed the details behind the dates and ticket sales for the Kiev Major, its second of three majors set for the 2016/2017 season.
To help reduce conflicts with other events, the main event has been rescheduled and is now due to take place from 27 – 30 April at the National Palace of Arts Ukraine.
The Qualifiers will be held in just a few weeks time, in March, and will give teams a chance to get to the main event by fighting it out to the Open Qualifiers, available to everyone, or the Regional Qualifiers, which will feature invited teams. The qualifiers will be held on 6-9 March and 10-13 March respectively.
Ticket sales for those potentially wanting to go to the event will open on Wednesday, 22 February, at 10am Eastern European Time, which luckily is the same for us here in South Africa. Tickets will be ₴130 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and ₴400 for the grand final on Sunday, which comes out at R63 and R193 respectively if you do some Rand conversions.
Ticket sales will be done via Karabas, and Valve has indicated that if you do want to purchase a ticket, then you should set up your Karabas account beforehand and log in before tickets go on sale. If you’re in another time zone, you can use this handy time zone converter to figure out what time things go on sale.
The Boston Major was perhaps the most exciting yet, and the new patch and changes to the game have certainly helped in making things more exciting, so expect an event that will have you clinging to the edge of your seats.
