The Bladeform Legacy Update has been revealed for Dota 2, bringing with it the much anticipated Juggernaut Arcana as well as a new patch, version 7.03, which sees some tweaks and changes to some of the popular heroes.
First and foremost is the set itself. “Yurnero’s mask has been cleaved in two, awakening the ancient souls that once laid dormant inside it,” reads the official blurb. “These spirits have become one with Yurnero, giving him both the wisdom and fury of his ancestors. This symbiotic relationship has transformed the Juggernaut into something new and terrifying… a celestial force of nature.”
The Arcana includes:
- All-new animations for: Loadout, Alternate Run, Teleport, Victory
- Custom Kill effect that triggers after a lethal crit or Omnislash, or on Triple Kills and higher
- All-new effects for: crits, Bladefury (works with existing custom Bladefury effects), and Omnislash
- A Dragon Spirit ancestor to aid the Juggernaut in times of need
- Altered Voice
- Custom Hero Portrait
- Custom Dragon Spirit Emoticon
Finally, on the game side of things, captains mode and the drafting stage have been updated to match the rest of the updates that came with the massive 7.0 update, such as strategy time and the ability to swap the captain role if need be.
The latest hero to arrive in Dota 2, Monkey King, has been added into Captain Mode with 7.03, and it will be interesting to see how the meta-game develops now that that hero is available to play.
In terms of other tweaks, Ember Spirit has received a serious change with his cooldown reduction talent now switched out for +500 Flame Guard Absorption, which may see a change for the spell-power Ember Spirit that has been so prevalent in professional games.
Another interesting change is to Pudge, who’s Meat Hook ability no longer pulls invulnerable heroes and has also received a slight nerf to range as well, which may slightly stunt his usefulness in the later game.
