ESL has made a huge announcement today as it finally expands into the African continent thanks to the ESL African Championships, brought to South Africa in partnership with Kwesé Sports.
The Championship will offer up two titles, CS:GO and Hearthstone, with the total prize pool valuing two million Rand up for grabs over the course of the 2017.
The inaugural ESL African Championship will run from April until June, with the second series starting the following month in July. The grand finals of series two will happen at the rAge Gaming Expo, held at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg in October, and will have the top four teams from both CS:GO and Hearthstone battling it out for some big prizes.

In the official press release on the ESL Website, Malte Barth, Executive Board Member at ESL, said he is thrilled to bring the ESL National Championships to Africa.
