CarboN eSports is a South African eSports organization and currently fields players and teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
CarboN eSports was founded by Daniel ‘spoof’ van Wyk in late 2015 as a fully equipped multi-gaming organization (MGO) with reputable teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Call of Duty on Xbox.
A Counter-Strike veteran and community stalwart, spoof has played a pivotal role in a number of successful teams over the years. The former Eternal.Conflict owner even enjoyed a short stint with rivals In-finity Gaming during 2014, where he led his team to a second place finish at the annual Telkom Digital Gaming Championship (DGC) in CS:GO, losing out to Bravado Gaming.
Ahead of the 2015 Telkom Digital Gaming League (DGL) winter season, Spoof joined forces with younger brother Ruan ‘Elusive’ Van Wyk to form the core of an experienced and exciting new team. This same team would later be assimilated into CarboN eSports and finish top eight at the Telkom DGC.
Meanwhile, CarboN’s Xbox Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare side would take first place against rivals Ventus Gaming, a first major championship for the budding multi-gaming organization (MGO) and benchmark for the years to come.
Spoof retired from competition at the end of 2015 to concentrate his efforts on managing the MGO.
– April 2016, Petrie ‘kgs’ Koegelenberg announced he would be leaving CarboN.CSGO
– April 2016, Johnny “JT-Rat” Theodosiou joined CarboN.CSGO from FlipSid3 Tactics South Africa.
