Age of Empires 2 Gets a Third Expansion

Age of Empires 2 is one of the gems of RTS history, and still has an active player base to this day, now 17 years after release, thanks to the HD release of the game.

In good news for fans of AoE 2 HD the game will be getting a third expansion, Rise of the Rajas, which will take players to southeast Asia, and includes four new civilizations – Burmese, Khmer, Malay and Vietnamese.

Each will come with full-voices campaigns, new units (such as the battle elephant) and the usual tasty goodies you expect from Age of Empires, and will be releasing on 19 December on Steam.

The developer has also promised performance updates and balance fixes, and the return of multiplayer restore, which should help the multiplayer experience a lot should you desync during game.

For just R219 on Steam, Age of Empires 2 HD is already a steal for fans of the franchise and, with new content on the way and a Steam sale on the horizon, now may be a good as time as ever to get that nostalgia flaring.
